Watching Morning TV
And virtually every other commercial is for weight loss. Not a single ad mentions strength training.
It’s so sad to realize that all these ads are on because people buy these foods and services in desperate desire to lose weight.
But it is IMPOSSIBLE without the strength training.
That is why 97% of all people who attempt to lose weight fail in a 5 year period.
Even the successes on TV, Valerie, Marie and others have not passed that very important 5 year point. They are just at the beginning. We will just have to wait and see.

But you already mentioned the problem … these are commercials, for profit. There’s no ongoing income to be had from strength training.

But that’s not true as you can make money from strength training in health clubs, home strength training equipment, DVDs, etc. There are ways, but Americans don’t want to exercise. That is a fact for most people. They think if they TRY a diet plan, at least they are doing something.

Well … there are many infomercials that promote strength training, but they aren’t structured as morning TV commercials. You are right, though, in that few diets stress the importance of strength training as a necessary component, especially for keeping weight off and staying in shape. Thank goodness someone wrote a book about it and appears on talk shows to get the word out!
