Norman:

You getting all the benefits of aerobic exercise, and then some, by performing the interval strength training outlined in the book. Your heart rate will go up, followed by a moment of rest, then up again. This enhances heart rate variability and it the best for both heart health and the brain. Steady state aerobics is less effective.

Henry:

The fact that you lost the weight in the past indicates to me that you understand what it takes to do it again.

Please keep me posted and make sure to hit your strength training as well.

Jim;

This is so true. I was a member of your website a few years ago and lost about 40 pounds counting calories, keeping a food journal, and making responsible food choices.

I've since fallen off the wagon and gained it all back due to stress, but am going to get back to it, using what I know works. The things I learned from you those many years ago.

Thanks;

Theresa:

The food journal is ESSENTIAL when it comes to weight loss. Thanks for the online tip and keep up the great work.

another thing that has been helping me keep my weight off is an online food journal. it lets me log foods and exercise. the graphs are pretty cool and have been keeping me motivated to eat the right stuff. anyway, thought i'd pass it along. it's free and it's pretty easy to use. cheers and good luck!

Norman:

If your strength training is done in the interval style which I recommend in both "The 7-Day Energy Surge" and "The Cardio-Free Diet," then you will definitely derive the brain benefits as you get older.

With regard to heart health, intervals is ALWAYS more beneficial than steady state aerobics.

Good luck and thanks for the comments about calories and the strength training.

Jim - have been counting calories for 3 months, weight came off. Then started using the strength training program as per your book. Pounds are falling like autumn leaves.

Yesterday PBS had a program on the brain. One expert said that
the best way to keep the brain active as we get older is exercise. But
she emphasized aerobic. What is your opinion of this.
