Health Magazine Cover – Walk Off Belly Fat – Results in 3 Days

September 23, 2011  •  6 Comments  •  Uncategorized

Are you serious?

I’m very disappointed to see Health splash a title like that on the cover. Walking does virtually NOTHING to your belly fat, let alone any fat on your entire body.

You should know that walking can improve your health. That I don’t deny. What I dispute is that walking does NOTHING to help you lose weight.

You would have to walk upon hours each day to actually burn enough calories to lose weight.

It should say “Strength Train To Blast Off Belly Fat” as that really DOES work!

  1. Jim, are you sending a Letter to the Editor of the magazine and telling THEM? Also, the Twin Cities Marathon takes place next weekend in Minnesota. Here’s a link to the Minneapolis StarTribune editorial page to submit your opinion (letter 250 words, or commentary 700 words) about marathon running. That would give your message much greater and better exposure than just here!

  4. Hey Jim

Just read this on Jane Fonda’s blog in which she’s talking about her new book
    “Prime Time”

“It’s important to do both cardio (aerobic) as well as resistance exercises. Aerobic activity is the only thing that gets rid of fat from all over your body including the marbled fat deep inside your muscles — dieting alone can’t do this”

The guy was running a half marathon. Half marathons are a very popular race to run on a major weightloss website. Many go from 5K’s to half marathon races in no time at all. In the article it states, “Health experts believe the heart can suffer short-term damage during a lengthy run”.
