Halloween Candy

Let’s all “exercise” some caution tonight and for the next few days with regard to the Halloween candy. For years, I used to have to physically remove all the leftover candy from my client’s homes as they were at it non-stop.

Eat a little, then give it ALL away. It’s empty calories that you don’t need, not to mention what it is doing to your teeth.

AND, please don’t let the kids go crazy on this stuff as a little goes a long way.

  1. Hey Jim,
Random question: What do you think about swimming. I love to swim laps and always have. I was a lifeguard and swimming instructor for years, when I went to college I gave it up due to time and for some stupid reason started running….then I found you and thank God stopped running!! So I do love to swim and am just wondering if it goes against your no cardio rule?

    Thanks!

  2. Not crazy about the swimming as some research indicates that it leads to carrying more body fat since the water is cold and the body wants to stay afloat.

That is accomplished by telling the body to carry more body fat.

Once every two weeks is fine, but I still would rather you hit more strength training.

    Hope that clears things up.

  3. Totally agree with you about the candy. My husband and I let our girls choose a few favorites, we each partake of one of our favorites and Monday morning hubby takes the rest to his office.

  4. A couple years ago, I decided I was no longer going to participate in the Halloween candy craziness. Why spend good money to buy junk food that undermines my health and the health of our youth? Besides, whenever I bought candy, I ended up eating as much or more of it than I handed out, which is really crazy. So, now I just turn off my porch light for the evening and find something more productive to do. Simple solution.
