Fast Food Calories
I’m just watching “Good Morning America” and they are doing a report on the highest calorie foods served by many big chains, such as The Cheesecake Factory, Applebees, etc., and the numbers are HUGE!
How do the restaurants respond? They say that most of these high calorie meals, and by high calorie, I’m talking upwards of 2500 calories, are meant to be shared.
Right! When was the last time you saw people sharing entrees in one of these places. Never.
Some of these items could blow your diet for the entire week, not just the day.
So please, check out the websites and determine, in advance, what you will order.
Jim

I couldn’t agree with you more!
I’ve gone back to Weight Watchers (lapsed Lifetime member), and one of the items you can purchase from them is a restaurant guide, showing the number of points for some of the national chain restaurants in Canada (I believe the same is available for US restaurants in the US). It is disgusting the number of points some foods are allocated!
I wish the chain restaurants in Canada had to put the nutrition information on the menus, or in pamphlets for places like McDonalds where you order at a counter. Would it change my mind alot of the time? Not necessarily…but, at least I will know what I’m consuming, and in the weight loss game, KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

I don’t know if you saw this segment on CBS Sunday morning today, but they profiled this restaurant called Heart Attack Grille they serve a 4 patty burger with 8,000 CALORIES!!! Nearly everyone they showed eating there was overweight, no surprise, I suppose. Here’s the link to the clip: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4632991n
