It actually upsets me to see the participants abused and then I have clients saying to me, “why aren’t I losing 15 pounds in a week” and I have to explain over and over again that it’s not fat, it’s water and muscle. That show really makes it tough as we have to constantly explain that the results are not “real” fat and is a lot of other tissue that you DON’T want to be losing.

Interesting as I didn’t know the trainers were not there since I did not see the actual show. You are probably right as it did get a lot of attention. Sounds like an old fashioned publicity stunt…..

Yes I agree Jim but Jillian and Bob were no where around that day. But the behind the scenes people were and I’m sure they told them b/c they had tons of medical help on standby for that very reason. I’m sure it was all for “drama”..that’s how Hollyweird is

Well, the trainers should have been clear about the dangers of doing something like that when you are out of shape. It’s just not ethical to do that to overweight and out of shape people.

Yes they had a challenge right off the bat and had to run/walk a mile. They didn’t tell them they had to run, that just whoever got there first. Some people did walk. The one lady who ended up in the hospital did not use wisdom at all. She jetted out of there wanting to win and be first. It was a stupid move on her part but that is what wanting to win will do to you.
