73% of Seniors Now Overweight
Shocking report on “Good Morning America” regarding seniors.
Unfortunately, the doctor on the program listed resistance training as 4th, after walking, cycling and swimming. That is totally wrong. Resistance should come first, as it’s the key to getting their muscle up and their metabolism up.

I happened upon a copy of “Strong Women Stay Young” at the thrift store today and will send it to my mom for her 77th birthday next month. We had touched on the topic of strength training last week, and she had no idea this is where her focus should be for exercising. This book is geared for women of all ages, but especially targets middle-age and seniors.

I agree, but the exercises in “The Cardio-Free Diet” are also suitable for seniors. I know many who have successfully regained strength/muscle from the program. I’m just not that familiar with “Strong Women” and can’t give an opinion without seeing it in front of me.

“Cardio-Free Diet” would be a great follow-up, but knowing my mom, her history and situation, “Strong Women …” is the better first book on the topic for her. The opening anecdote references an active 93yo and her great-grandchildren. Besides, your book wasn’t the one on sale for 99 cents at the thrift store today. LOL!
