Just finished watching The Golden Globes on the West Coast.

Shame to see SO many successful, intelligent people gain a LOT of weight and the list includes:

Sigourney Weaver – This was a beautiful woman (and she still is) that has packed on a lot of pounds

James Cameron – The very successful writer, producer and director has practically doubled his weight since “Titanic.”

Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson – Tom, you lost weight for “Castaway” and Rita, what happened to your chin?

Jeff Bridges – Do you remember the shape he was in for “Against All Odds?” If you don’t, rent it.

I”m watching the repeat right now so may get back to you.

Not trying to sound snarky, but, come on, if they can’t do it, with their money and time, what is everyone else to do?

In Las Vegas this weekend and it is ASTONISHING to see the size of the average person. What I have observed is:

1. All you can eat buffets for $29 for the WHOLE day. It’s not just one meal. You can actually just sit at your table and keep going for the majority of the day. Scary.

2. Soda drinking. Wow, I haven’t seen this much soda consumption from so many people in years.

3. Lack of movement. There are tons of motorized wheelchairs in this city and I just can’t believe they are all for people incapable of moving. My take it is for many people who simply DON’T want to move.

If Las Vegas is called “Sin City,” then the sin is obesity.
