Article published in the “New York Daily News” shows that excess weight causes 1 in 12 new cancer cases. Researchers have linked larger waist sizes to certain forms of cancer.

For men, larger waist size increased the risk of kidney cancer.

For women, larger waist size increased the risk of endometrial cancer.

BUT, an article in the “British Journal of Sports Medicine” reported that those who participated in HIGH INTENSITY exercise were less likely to suffer from cancer.

Note HIGH INTENSITY. That’s means walking won’t help!!!

You should forward this to EVERY senior you care about:

Research from the Jerusalem Longitudinal Cohort Study followed 1,821 people born in 1920 and 1921 for 18 years from ages 70-88.

They classified themselves as sedentary or active. The active group moved for 4 hours a week or more.

Between ages 70-78, 27.2% of the sedentary group died compared to 15.2% of the active group.

From ages 78-85, 40.8% of sedentary died compared to 26.2% of the active.

From ages 85-88, 24.4 of sedentary died vs. 6.8% of their active peers.

And if they lift during some of those four hours, the benefits are even greater.
