The Health Care Crisis

I was watching “Good Morning America” today and once again, there is this big debate going on regarding our health care crisis.

I have said this before and feel I need to say it again: health care starts with the individual. If we ate better, exercised, kept our weight down, quit smoking and actually went to the doctor for yearly physicals, we would all be healthier.

And I am not saying that you have to pay for it during these tough economic times. I am on the board of a clinic in Chicago that will take people without insurance and provide them excellent care. I use the facility because, as a board member, we are asked to get a complete picture of what the clinic provides.

Plus, those of us with health insurance help to subsidize those without.

So please, ask yourself and those around you “are we doing the best that we can to stay healthy?”

And IF some health issue did present itself in the future, wouldn’t being in better shape help your body to fight?
